Hello user experience, goodbye low quality content!

There have been too many speculations on how google will change their parameters for website owners in 2014, but this one is for sure:

You should use content marketing to rank your website well on google in 2014.

By working harder to control content as a whole, Google wants website owners to provide the best info as possible.

Shareable, unique, relevant and genuine content.

Have a look at some important considerations that must be followed when you start creating your content marketing strategy for google:

Stop Guest Blogging

The First announcement of the year by Matt Cutts, the head of Google Search Quality Control was:

“Guest Posts are dead. Put a fork on it!” He said.

That means, if you want to write on someone else’s blog, to have those websites linking to yours, this is not valid anymore.

This well used practice has come to an end, because many scammers were getting a little too smart on spreading irrelevant and low quality content on the web.

Google Is Stopping To Deliver Keyword Data In Google Analytics

Another big concern was that keywords, were being overused by search (SEO) strategists.

They would give more value to stuffed keywords than to the actual quality of the content.

From now on, Google wants marketing strategists to care less about stuffing keywords on their website.

And start to put more efforts on creating a content that has impact in people’s lives.

The content should be engaging and spread online. In this case, as you can imagine, social media will be very important in this game.

It doesn’t mean that keywords are dead, but The good news is:

You should stop worrying too much about keywords and start writing content that is shareable.

Invest In Social Media Marketing

Social Media will certainly play a huge role in this scenario. The more people share and comment on your content, more chances you have to rank well.

From Google’s point of view, this should be a great indicator that a content is relevant and important for a given audience.

Of course google still likes back links, so I guess is good to make sure you link your website everywhere in social media (back-links).

Make your presence counts and direct people to your website. Think about great spreadable content and use it in as many channels you can.

Navigation And Bouncing Rate

It is also important to have a good navigation and invest time to write strategic content that tells your visitors what to do next.

As Google Webmaster guidelines says:

“Make a site with a clear hierarchy and text links. Every page should be reachable from at least one static text link.”

This will help you diminish the number of visitors who will leave your website without visiting the other pages (bouncing rate).

It is important to write a copy that tells your audience what to do next while they arrive on your site.

Content Marketing Is the Blood Of Your Online Strategy

I’m not a google search guru, but I can tell you, as an online marketer, who focus on content marketing strategy, these changes, are great news.

And you? What do you think about it? Our community would love to hear your thoughts on that.
